Count the Cost

Living for yourself is cheap.

2…4…6…8…
Living for your family and friends requires more but is still manageable.

1…2…10…50…500…10,000…
Living for God goes deeper and wider than we’ve ever known.

How do you count the cost? Based on the investment? Based on the return?
Based on the waiting and the unknown?

If we are to receive, we must give. There is the cost.

Every payout smacks of sacrifice. Letting something go. Not knowing if we’ll get anything back.

If our focus is on worldly stuff, we will never be satisfied with the return.

If our focus is on God, we will never be disappointed.

The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches, honor and life. Proverbs 22:4 (NASB)

Don't care if I get nothin' back,
don't care if God don't give me wings,
don't care 'bout seculars' attack,
it's all about the righteous things.
I am dyin', plain and true,
and my comfort comes from Christ,
so I'll tell you, you, and you,
that I believe in what He sacrificed.
There's no professor has the right
to steal hope from a single soul
by claiming that he be 'bright',
and that the temporal is the whole.
I'm dyin', but work's just begun
to fight these jerks till Kingdom Come.

The self-proclaimed 'brights' are philosophical naturalists, whatever the hell that means, who feel that public policy should be based on 'science' (as they see it), and not on any kind of religious principles.

They define the south end of a northbound burro.

"Every payout smacks of sacrifice." YES! And sometimes our flesh shrinks away, but knowing our Savior makes all the giving more than worthwhile.
